Bedford Police Department
Police protection for the Borough of Bedford is provided by the Bedford Police Department. The Bedford Police Department is under the direction of the Mayor of the Borough of Bedford and the Chief of Police, Troy Nelson.
All officers are certified through the Pennsylvania Municipal Officers’ Education and Training Commission and receive yearly mandatory training required to maintain certification. In addition, the Bedford Police Department (BPD) has a comprehensive in-service training program designed to further the individual skills of police officers and command personnel.
